White Bridesmaid Dresses

You’ve heard it time and time again, “NEVER WEAR WHITE TO A WEDDING.” That rule is in place for obvious reasons but in case you’re new to weddings, here is the tea: white is typically reserved for the bride. There are a few exceptions to this rule: (1) You can wear white if that’s the attire the bride and groom request of their guests; and (2) If the bride asks her bridesmaids to wear white–which brings us to why we are here.

A recent trend we wouldn’t mind seeing more of is white bridesmaid dresses. Let us go on the record and say, we are here for it! We love it. We think it’s a bold statement, reserved for brides who are not worried about being outshined by their best gals alongside her–also in white–a bride comfortable that she is still the star of the show. I mean, just look at Solange. She is the perfect example. If we’re being real, we’re not sure we would let our sister wear white to our wedding if our sister were Beyonce LOL. But back to Solange. Years later, we’re still obsessing over her cape, but also that her wedding party was in white. Remember this iconic photo?

Now, that’s no shade to any bride that doesn’t choose white for her bridesmaids. This is just to say that BTS has an affinity for a bride that is willing to push the envelope a bit. We’ve compiled a list of weddings, with bridesmaids in white, we’re obsessed with. Hopefully, if you take away anything from this week’s blog, it’s that white on your big day can be done and done really well. Take a look at some of this inspo, and let us know what you think in the comments.
