Bridal Socks & Wedding Heels

Socks and Heels. Two things you never thought would go together are now the most fashionable tandem we’ve seen in 2018. Per usual, that trend is making its way into bridal. That trend, ladies is socks and heels. Now, if you want to wear a cute t-strap but don’t have a pedicure, not a problem!

Before we get into the bridal fashion details, we want to touch on brands we’ve seen do it and do it well. Gucci, you never disappoint.

Now incorporating this trend into bridal. We love, love the idea of socks incorporated into your wedding heel–especially for the risk-taking bride. How could this be under fashionable stilettos? Even better, how great would some cute socks be for a bridesmaid gift for your ladies to wear while getting ready for the big day. Check out these bridal socks and let us know in the comments if you’d partake in this trend. If you’re wondering if we would, the answer is yes!

White Runway

Behind every bride lies a great bridesmaid, and we believe those bridesmaids should look great too. Although we find beauty in just about every bridesmaid dress, our own personal style really reflects a sleek, simply stated kind of vibe. Yes, the bride is the star of the show, but your besties will thank you when they’re standing up on your day looking fabulous beside you. We like bridesmaid dresses that emulate what’s going on in the non-bridal fashion world–dresses that are fun, flirty, and a little bit different than your typical dress.

For this shoot, we had the absolute pleasure of partnering with White Runway to showcase our BTS style through bridesmaid attire. White Runway has a huge selection of dresses that will fit just about anyone’s style but we had the pleasure and privilege of choosing our favorites for this incredible styled shoot.

Take a look at this beautiful photos and let us know which dress is your favorite in the comments.

Designer Spotlight: Rita Vinieris

Fashion, particularly bridal fashion, is our favorite. It’s also a huge component of the wedding–one not to be looked over. So much thought and effort go into choosing your wedding gown. You go to boutique after boutique and save gowns after gown on Pinterest with your exact vibe. Shopping for bridal is nothing like shopping for an outfit at Top Shop or Zara. You don’t always know where exactly to go to search for the gown that is perfect for you. You don’t know what designer designs gowns in line with the vibe you’re looking for. This is why we have a designer spotlight, where we highlight some of our favorite designers. This week, we’re highlighting Rita Vinieris. Rita Vinieris is a Canadian designer, known for luxury bridal. Can we just say we’re obsessed?  These gowns are absolutely to die for. Not to mention, her presentation at Bridal Fashion week was one of our favorites. Take a look at some of our favorite modern looks from Rivini Spring 2019.

Rivini, Spring 19

Rivini, Spring 19. We’re obsessed with this line because of the modern elements. While bridal is typically traditional, we’re seeing more and more brides lean toward the modern route. In our opinion, when you go the modern route as it relates to bridal, you keep that “bridal vibe” but still safely step outside of the box. These gowns, jumpsuits, or suites are statement pieces that will have your guests remembering your outfit for days to come. Here are some of our more modern favs from this line. Let us know what you think.

NYBFW Trends

We’re still on a Fashion High from last week at New York Bridal Fashion Week and excited to share one of our favorite trends for F/W 2019. One trend we’re excited to share with you is a trend we mentioned previously in our blog and that is statement veils.

We’re seeing a transition in veils. What used to be used as a compliment to a dress, is now becoming a statement of its own. What we’ve noticed on many runways were beading and floral. Yes, girl, beading and floral on top of a veil! The beautiful placement of these pearls and orchids on these veils is absolutely to die for. While this trend was prevalent in many shows we attended, it was the highlight of Reem Acra. Take a look at how these statement veils rocked the runway and let us know in the comments which is your favorite.

Bridal Footwear

The fashion gurus have spoken and category updates for bridal shoes are here. In the coming season, you can expect to see revamped silhouettes, expressive materials and flamboyant details marching down the aisle. Check out the must-have styles for the season!

Silhouettes

Silhouettes. This season’s silhouettes include the classic and smart shape of the Stiletto Pump, the comfort and class of the Slingback Kitten Heel, the trending and staple style of the Mule and the feminine, refined profile of Strappy Constructions. Check out some of our favorite examples of upcoming shapes of the season.

Details

Details. Bold, vintage, regal details are making a comeback! Daring jewel accents, classic pearls, statement florals, decorative ankle straps, and large bows will decorate bridal shoes this season. Watch out Bridal gowns, because these shoes might steal the show!

Materials

Materials. It’s no surprise that the popular trends of glitter and transparent plastics are trickling their way to bridal footwear. We are obsessed with the sensual, barely there style of the transparent plastic and fun, party look of glitter.

Colors

Colors. This season you can expect to see last summer’s blush tones amped up to a pretty pink as consumer confidence in color continues to grow. You can also expect to see hi-shine, mirrored, liquid silvers for the more modern bride.

We are so excited to see how brides work these new styles this season. We’re particularly fanning over the bold details and vintage flair. Man, oh, man, what a time to be a bride!

90s Are Back!

One of the only times where you can get a good idea of what the future holds is during Fashion Week. And after this week, we believe the future is telling us that the 90s are continuing into 2018 in the form of neon and classic hair accessories.

Just when you thought the days of Fresh Prince, Friends, and Seinfeld are over, the 90s made their way back into our hearts. We’ve recently noticed this trend in all the plaid and neon plastered through TopShop and Zara and, as expected New York Fashion Week reflected these trends as well. We anticipated that this trend would trickle its way into weddings and right on cue, we see Kim Kardashian West at 2 Chain’s wedding sporting a neon green latex dress.

Below we’ve compiled a list of hairstyles we can totally see a bride work on her wedding day as well as dress options for guests.

White Bridesmaid Dresses

You’ve heard it time and time again, “NEVER WEAR WHITE TO A WEDDING.” That rule is in place for obvious reasons but in case you’re new to weddings, here is the tea: white is typically reserved for the bride. There are a few exceptions to this rule: (1) You can wear white if that’s the attire the bride and groom request of their guests; and (2) If the bride asks her bridesmaids to wear white–which brings us to why we are here.

A recent trend we wouldn’t mind seeing more of is white bridesmaid dresses. Let us go on the record and say, we are here for it! We love it. We think it’s a bold statement, reserved for brides who are not worried about being outshined by their best gals alongside her–also in white–a bride comfortable that she is still the star of the show. I mean, just look at Solange. She is the perfect example. If we’re being real, we’re not sure we would let our sister wear white to our wedding if our sister were Beyonce LOL. But back to Solange. Years later, we’re still obsessing over her cape, but also that her wedding party was in white. Remember this iconic photo?

Now, that’s no shade to any bride that doesn’t choose white for her bridesmaids. This is just to say that BTS has an affinity for a bride that is willing to push the envelope a bit. We’ve compiled a list of weddings, with bridesmaids in white, we’re obsessed with. Hopefully, if you take away anything from this week’s blog, it’s that white on your big day can be done and done really well. Take a look at some of this inspo, and let us know what you think in the comments.

Designer Spotlight: J’Aton Couture

If it’s your first time here and you couldn’t already tell, we are fashion obsessed. Especially, bridal fashion. People love to stick to tradition when it comes to weddings–which for the record we’re all for. But if you’re going to push any envelope, let it be the fashion envelope. We love it when our brides push the limit a little bit, have fun and explore the plethora of fashion opportunities there are as it relates to bridal fashion. That being said, we like to highlight designers who are really pushing the envelope in the most beautiful way.

Today’s designer feature is J’Aton Couture. If you’re not a bridal fashion fanatic like us, you may have seen their designs on Beyonce!

Now a little bit about J’Aton. J’Aton is the acronym of the Australian designers’, Jacob Luppino and Anthony Pittorino. Both Jacob and Anthony are the masterminds behind this renowned couture house. Each of these designs is made in Italy. How cool is that? These designs are perfect for brides who love silk, tulle, and satin. Some gorgeous aspects we love about these designs are the balloon sleeves, the detail, and the Victorian vibe. Take a look at these gowns and let us know if you’d rock one of these on your wedding day!

Now Trending: Statement Veils

Veil. What used to be used as a compliment to a dress, is now becoming a statement of its own. In our opinion, you can thank women like Princess Diana or Kim Kardashian–both whose veil was an absolute statement no one was able to forget.

When you think of a veil’s train, you immediately think of Princess Diana. Mostly because the length of her veil’s train was longer than her dress–and her dress was very, very long! The entire veil, held on by her crown, measured at 153 yards long.

Kim’s long blusher really just blew us out of the water. We hadn’t seen anything like it. Typically blushers stop at elbow or fingertip length. So this to-the-floor statement was everything we ever wanted!

Now that we’ve recapped our thorough obsession with Kim K and Princess D’s statement veils, we’re positive you can tell how excited we are for a trend like this to come around.  If you know us, you know we’re all about stepping out of the box and making your wedding day and experience unique to you. With this new wave in veil trends, we’re highlighting a couple of statement veil trends we’re obsessed with right now.

Layers

Layers. We never thought we’d see the day where there were multiple layers beautifully incorporated into a veil. But the time is now, and we’re so here for it! Check out these veils with layers and let us know what you think.

Length

Length, length, and more length. Brides are taking a page from the veil queens (Kim K and Princess D) and we’re not mad at it! No matter if the length is in the blusher or the train, in our opinion, the more length the better.

Beading and Floral

Yes, girl, beading and floral on top of a veil! This trend is probably our favorite out of the bunch. The beautiful placement of these pearls and orchids on these veils is absolutely to die for.

Fringe

Fringe is totally a thing. With this style, you can go from Boho bride to Great Gatsby bride! With the right wedding theme and gown, these veils would be a beautiful addition to the bride’s overall look. Just when you think incorporating fringe into a veil can’t be done, we throw this at you.

What are your thoughts on a statement veil? Will you incorporate one into your overall look? Let us know in the comments!
