Wearing the right shirt with the right bra is often times pretty tricky but let’s talk about wearing the right bra with your wedding dress – now that’s tricky.  These days, with the ever-revolving wedding dress styles and trends we are seeing a lot more skin and a lot more reveal.  I think the biggest question a lot of girls have that are bustier when finding their perfect dress is, well can I wear a bra with that?

Some dresses from Galia Lahav or Berta for example are becoming more risqué and most brides do not want straps popping out or to worry about being uncomfortable during the biggest day of their life. Some companies have stepped in to help with this and we will list them below, but also, a lot of dresses are being made with built in bras due to the complexity of the dress. However, some dresses are less structured and a bra might be needed in order to look your very best on your special day. If this is the case and you are not one of the lucky ones that can go without a bra, here are some perfect options for all different types of wedding dresses.

A lot of clothing lines and specialty designers have actually started making undergarments for this exact thing. Kim Kardashian for example made her breakout in clothing with Skims. Skims has created multiple pieces of undergarments for every possible outfit and color. Kim together with other companies have made wearing less feel more comfortable. From Tapes, to pasties, to strapless low cut bras and bralettes, wearing undergarments confidently has become more and more universally visible.

Red lips; for the bold and the beautiful

A beautiful, bold, red lip is understated and underused, specifically on a lady’s wedding day.  Often times and definitely more recent, we tend to see and find our ladies flourish in a beautiful nude/pink tone lip color to seal the look right before walking down the aisle.  Why?  Well for one, comfort and two, well it’s beautiful – right?  OF COURSE!!  It is beautiful and while these next few paragraphs may urge you to open up and adventure into an undiscovered territory, it is most important for you to feel the most beautiful and comfortable on your wedding day.

As ladies who only like to venture out of our usual norm on occasion, we can totally relate but at the same time, we can totally urge our brides and others.  That said – why not venture out and be different?  Why not try something with a little more edge and a little more glam?  – like that red lipstick?

So, first, we task you, reach down, maybe way down, in that purse of yours to find that shade of red we all know everyone has and be a little adventurous.  Pair this with a fine line eye liner or even a little wing to create the boldest most refined look.  If you do this on occasion with your daily looks, then you have no excuses!

We love working with makeup artists and in chatting with a few, we found that they are dying for their brides to come to them asking for a little change up from the ordinary.

A Red Lip on your wedding day can be risky but we say that only for those who do not try it first. Take a look here at some show stopping looks and inspired by a few of our favorite makeup stylists.

New York Bridal Fashion Week Fall ’20 Collection

Wow. We are still catching up on sleep, work and trying to get our minds right from all the amazingness that we saw last week at New York bridal fashion week but we just can’t seem to shake it. New York in itself, is a one of a kind city. Full of dreams, lights, and people and for us, we attend for all of that, and of course, for the dresses.

 Year 3 for BTS

This year, marks our third year of attending shows, meeting designers, and drooling over elegance at its finest. We had a jam packed weekend of Runway shows and private viewings of our most favorite designers and some we never even knew before. None the less, it was an experience we will never forget and always remember.  Not to mention, we stayed at one of our favorite hotels, Dream Downtown, and had some amazing food experiences as well. (Alex and Storm love food, by the way).

The Shows:

Berta, Galia, Pronovias, Pnina and Julie Vino– you all know they are some of our favorites and boy, they did not disappoint.

This season was definitely a season of sophistication and bringing back tradition. We saw a lot of ball gowns and a lot of bows. Berta, took the conservative route and definitely scaled back on the sexy sheer look. Pnina, while typically known for her crystals and bling, brought lace, satin and bows to the show. THE BOWS! Oh how obsessed we are with the bows. Check out some of our favorite looks that we captured right from the runway.  We are in love!

One designer that hit our photo albums this weekend that completely blew us away was Tel Aviv designers, Yael Eisenberg and Heli Kalkstein, also known as Eisen Stein. These two met each other in design school and after a short 4 month design process, had created their first bridal line in 2011.

To say their dresses are gorgeous is simply an understatement. The vision the pair has, coupled with the most high quality materials of silk, lace, beading and Swarovski crystals really had our jaws drop.  One dress, was a last minute addition that took only days to produce. This dress happened to be our teams favorite. The intricacy and detail was out of this world and oh my, it was a stunner.

Any-who! To say our expectations were met, is an understatement. We had the best time, in the best city doing the best things. Wanna hear more or see more from our experience, head over to our Instagram page and check out our highlights!!

Sabyasachi Winter 2019

You might’ve heard by now, but Indian designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee dropped the 2019 Bridal Winter Collection on Instagram and we have to say, we’re definitely pleased! The new Charbagh collection is full of options for every kind of bride. From modern, bold looks to more traditional yet unique gowns, your sure to fall in love with one of the four incredibly dreamy lines (yes, that’s right. FOUR!).

Sabyasachi is an inclusive brand that wants to make sure his brides can relate to and we think they met the mark. Take a walk with us through the eyes of the designer and you’re sure to see that he’s pretty much thought of everyone!

DEVI

Designed for the traditional bride, Devi is the perfect line for women who look forward to wearing a red lehnga. As the name suggests, the gowns from this collection are fit for a goddess. Ornate gold detailing covers each piece from top to bottom, but don’t think it stopped there. Sabyasachi paired his intricate pieces with bold, traditional jewelry and we couldn’t picture it any other way!

NARGIS

Sabyasachi just breathed life back into us with the Nargis collection.  He imagined “a wild overgrown garden with lush flowers blooming everywhere”, straight out of a fairytale as the setting for this destination edit. With brighter traditional prints and simplistic embellishments, this collection is ideal for a fun and free-spirited bride.

CHOWK

For the woman who is self-assured and unalarmed by grandness, the Chowk collection is perfect for the positively defiant. Extremely detailed patterns pull these looks together and make them a bold yet understated nod to the folk cultures in India, with very minimal embellishments. The focus is definitely put on the textiles used for this line.

ISFAHAN

Thinking deeply about Islamic Art and the colors used, Isfahan is colored in hues that “are joyous, but tingled with pathos.” Generic colors are replaced with dusty versions on lustrous fabrics such as satin and velvet, while Muhgal motifs decorate the textiles. Using an ancient Persian art form called Zardosi, the gowns are also covered in metallic gold and silver embroidery.

As mentioned earlier, Sabyasachi creates the entire picture by using his gorgeous line of jewelry. Perfectly paired, it’s safe to say that the accessories in this collection are up to par with the fashion and take the gowns to the next level. Still can’t get enough of India’s hottest bridal designer? Then you’ll be pleased to hear that there is also a shoe line! Let us know in the comments below, which collection speaks to you most. We’d love to hear your thoughts!

Dress shirts, a commonly overlooked piece to the overall look of the groom and his groomsmen. At BTS, we’re all about attention to detail. This is why we’re going to dig deep into dress shirts this week. We’ll start with commonly asked questions and head into stepping out of the box. If you’re familiar with this space, you know we’re all about stepping out of the box.

White or Ivory?

Questions often asked by our grooms are whether or not to wear a white or ivory undershirt. Our go-to is always white. Why, you ask? Well, white gives a crisp, clean look. You’ll want this trust us. Just think of how polished you’ll look in photos. Look at this side by side example–white is the clear winner.

A second question is whether or not true white will clash with the brides off white gown. No! Even if it’s champaign. The answer is still no. Take a look at these photos so you can see the difference.

Step out of the box with colors or patterns

Step out of the box, gents! You won’t regret it. We promise. Incorporating color or pattern is always a fun idea. Even mix-matched patterns between dress shirts, ties or even pocket squares can look amazing when done right. Don’t believe us? Take a look at some of these looks incorporating color and pattern really well.

Did we get you to want to venture out of the box with your dress shirt? Let us know how so in the comments.

The 411 on Menswear

Let’s be honest, the main attraction is and will always be the bride on the wedding day but let’s put a little spotlight on that groom over there.  After all, he does make up 50% of the reason this wedding is taking place!

We are completely obsessed right now with men’s fashion!  Designers, trendsetters, fashion models and stylists have really set the bar high with what men are wearing these days and wedding days are no exception. That being said, we thought that it would be appropriate to let the men know that even if you think you’re looking fly, you need to pay attention to certain details of your wardrobe.

Some key points to make sure that are just right:

  • Size
  • Fit
  • Accessories

These are common points, right?

Well yes, but each one is SOO important in every single way.

Step 1: Go To a Tailor

Get your suit or tux fit perfectly.  Not everyone’s shape is made the same but every off the rack suit is so you should not be able to get away with going to the store and throwing something on from the rack.  Especially on a day like this. Trust us, the smallest alterations make a huge difference and smile on your wife’s face will be priceless!

Step 2: Know How Things Should Look
Oversized pants, jackets, shirts, too long ties, too short ties, etc. etc. etc. ARE NOT OKAY. 🙂  Check the images here to see what is the right way to wearing these

So make sure you spend some time getting to know what your size is and familiarizing yourself with styles you like to make sure you look sharp. Getting an opinion or two doesn’t hurt either which actually brings us to our last step…

Step 3:  Consult with Others
Check-in with your bride, planner, or some lady in your life that you know has an eye for style! This way, you avoid making any embarrassing fashion no-no’s. You know that time you wanted to go out for dinner with that outfit you thought was amazing but your wife was like “ummmmm what are those?” Yeah, let’s not make that a thing that happens again when she’s walking down the aisle and sees you. Let’s make sure you’re looking like a total snack in her eyes 😉

So what’d you think? We’d love to know which of these steps you’ll be implementing (or all of them. Tell us in the comments below!

Second look for the groom? It may not be something many men think of, or even the ladies think of, but when looking back on it, it may make sense: Guys need a second look too. We all have those very fashionable, love to look good, care about their appearance, men in our lives. On the wedding day, it is likely no different.

Guys – just like the ladies have an interest in having several looks, and that is perfectly fine with us, we want you to have an interest in a second look too. Actually, now that were on this topic, we are kind of obsessed with the idea of two looks for the bride and groom. Before we scare you away, a second look can be either extreme, subtle and sophisticated or even statement-making, it all works – that is when it is done the right way.

Here are a few suggestions and tips on helping your man pull this off:

Change The Jacket!

This is probably the easiest thing to do as it is simply a switch from one thing to another. When do you do this? The same time the ladies would make their switch. Plan for a specific look during the ceremony, something sharp, classic and that completely compliment the look of your face. Don’t know what she is wearing? (obviously, cause why would you) Ask for her opinion on it. It is likely that she won’t let you decide this all on your own anyways.

Then make the switch right before your grand entrance into your ballroom IF you are going with something a little more fun and not too crazy. I say IF because if you are going with a look that is wild and totally speaks to your outgoing personality – I would hold off until the dancing begins. Bring out the cameras and your boys and make it known you are the guy for the night and now all eyes are on you.

Switch Up The Kicks

We all know guys love their shoes and to be honest, some (or most) probably even have more tennis shoes in their closet than they know what to do with them. If you have a man that collects and takes pride in his shoe game, then why not show them off? Buy the best pair yet and put them to some real use – on that dance floor. It is certainly acceptable for you to make this minor wardrobe change when the lights go down and the music gets loud. Show off the shoe on you cause we are all here for a guy with a good shoe game!

So tell us! Which of these tips do you think your man will end up trying out? Comment your best guess below.

Typically low cut and shear is usually our go-to vibe when it comes to bridal gowns. But these days, we’re IN LOVE with gowns that have a high neckline. We know, we know. At first glance, high neckline gowns seem a little far off from where we usually fall on the sexy spectrum when it comes to weddings. But just because the neck is high, doesn’t mean you can’t also be sexy! Keep reading and fall in love with high necklines too.

Elegance

Let’s start with elegance. A high neckline gown paired with an updo accentuates the neck and collar bones. We love sexy, always will. High neckline lets you drop it low, while at the same time cover-up. Just look at how Berta executed this look.

Take a look at some of these looks. Once you’re done scrolling, we know you’ll agree.

Spring Wedding + Inspo

If we had to choose a season and vibe, for a high neckline gown, it would be spring wedding with a Lake Como vibe, pair with gold, satin cowl midi slip dress for the bridesmaids.

High Neckline Designers We Love

Some of the designers dong high necklines the right way are our usual favorite suspects–Berta, Mira Zwillinger, and Vera Wang.

First up, Berta! We mentioned earlier that when you first think of high necklines, you think conservative. But not with Berta! Take a look at some of these sexy, high necklines.

Last but not lease, Vera Wang, who is always on-trend.

Now have we convinced you yet? Comment below and let us know if you’re trying on a high neckline wedding gown the next time you go wedding dress shopping.

Trending now is clear heels. Not only do we love the look of them, but we also love the way they fit and feel. Designers seemed to have perfected the non-foggy look. Ladies, you know what we’re talking about, where the shoes fog up the clear portion of the heels. LOL Ok, back to clear heels and why we love them.

They are so simple and chic and elongate every woman’s legs. Who is here for the Barbi leg look? WE ARE! As an everyday look or style to going out for dinner and drinks, to bridesmaids and bridal shoes – they are the perfect fit for any lady’s foot. Not to mention, they do give us a little Cinderella glass slipper vibe.

We know, it is likely that KIM K started this trend a few years ago but we are here to tell you, if you haven’t already, buy a pair. Take a look for yourself and see why.
