When we were approached recently by Kelly from Ben and Kelly Photography to write a blog, it made most sense. She wanted us to blog about the importance of having a photo list. Now, most of you might be like, what is a photo list and so I will explain. When planning your wedding and all the details that are included, the very last thing that the Bride or Groom thinks about is what photos they want to make sure are captured and with who – isn’t that the photographers job? Well yes, but they don’t know who your great grandmother is and what Aunt Suzie or Uncle Jim look like. As wedding planners, and essentially bystanders of the entire process – we see it becoming more and more important to help with the flow of the day.
Most of the time stress will occur while taking pictures because face it, no one wants to listen or pay attention the day of the wedding. Not even the Bride or Groom. They all want to mingle, dance and have a great time – which do we blame them? In order for everyone to enjoy all of the fun and activities; brides, sit down with your groom about one week prior and go over all of the guests who are attending your wedding. Create a list of family members and close friends to make sure you have a picture with and then distribute to those people. That way, they are now responsible for being present when that picture needs to be taken and so you don’t have to be in a rushed and chaotic situation where no one can be found and then there are no pictures!
