While the 88th Academy Awards may mean it’s the end of Award Season, it also means it was the last hoorah of the season for star studded red carpets with gowns we pretty much drool over! To no surprise, this year brought out some absolutely stunning gowns in just about every color imaginable. While we loved Charlize Theron’s super hot red gown with deep v neck, we kinda fell in love with some classics; little black dresses. Here’s some of our favorites from this weekend!
Jennifer Lawrence flaunted an edgy Alexander Wang two piece at Vanity Fair’s after party that blew her gorgeous lacy Dior Haute couture gown out the water! With minimal jewelry and lots of skin, she looked absolutely flawless!
Snagging a gown straight off the runway, Lea Michele turned heads in her Pamella Roland gown at Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Oscar Viewing Party. The sequined blue top paired with the black sheer tulle skirt couldn’t be a more perfect pairing.
Julianne Moore absolutely killed it in her Chanel Haute Couture gown at the Oscars on Sunday! Her gown was seen on Kendall Jenner in Paris last month as she showed it off down the runway, but in a battle of “Who Wore it Better?” Julianne Moore wins hands down!
Although her time on stage and script reading may not have been quite on point, Sarah Silverman’s dress definitely was! Her black, Zac Posen gown showed off her figure in the most modest and classic of ways.
When you’re used to rocking the runway as an Angel, it’s probably pretty unlikely you’ll show up on the red carpet in anything less than fabulous! That was definitely the case with Lily Aldridge’s Alexandre Vauthier Haute Couture gown she wore to Vanity Fair’s after party. With one of the edgiest looks of the weekend in a cutout top and leg bearing skirt, she absolutely killed it!
Even though Heidi Klum may not have been the best dressed on the Oscar’s red carpet in her purple Marchesa gown, she definitely redeemed herself at Vanity Fair’s after party. The fashion mogul wore a sleek Atelier Versace gown with black and blue geometric top that was just gorgeous! The first round may have been a fail, but round two was nothing short of a victory!
Whether it’s to a wedding, a night on the town, or on the red carpet, there’s just something we love about a little black dress! With black being chic, stylish, and always in season, it’s hard to go wrong!
