When the time comes to create a wedding registry, you probably already have a whole list of things you have had your eye on that you can’t wait to get. You’ll register for that dinnerware set from Crate and Barrel that will be absolutely perfect for when you have the in-laws over for the holidays, that all-clad cookware from Williams Sonoma that is way better than the mix and match “set” you have now, and of course there’s that bedding from Pottery Barn that you just have to have! You know where the best places for those kind of items are, but what about things such as vacuums and irons or even all of those kitchen gadgets like coffeemakers and KitchenAids?
Well, finding a place to get all of those things (along with so many others) has recently become so much easier! Earlier this year, Best Buy introduced their own wedding registry and it is pretty awesome. If you’re anything like us, your initial thought is something along the lines of, “Best Buy? The place that sells all the TVs and electronic stuff? They have a registry?!” As it turns out, while they do have televisions, computers, phones and all that other tech stuff you would expect them to have, they have quite an array of things you planned on registering for like that KitchenAid, vacuums, garment steamers and SO much more. Here are a few reasons we think registering with them is a brilliant idea!
It’s easy!
When we found out they had a registry we of course had to take a look for ourselves. Not really sure as to what they offered, we found a Wedding Registry Checklist that basically has anything you would ever want! They break it down into categories so you don’t have to search their site for hours on hours trying to find that one thing you may have forgotten but can’t remember because you’ve looked at so many things that your brain now hurts. And if you don’t want to create it online, go into a store! You can ask an associate all sorts of questions to figure out which products are best for you.
What is Group Gifting you ask? It’s pretty cool, that’s what it is! When your fiancé insists on registering for that 65” curved flat screen tv that is apparently the next best thing since sliced bread but costs a mere $2000, group gifting comes in handy. Any registry item priced $200 or more will automatically be eligible for group gifting. If a wedding guest would like to contribute to a group gift item, they just click the ‘Contribute’ button on the registry and enter the amount they wish to give. Best Buy will send an e-gift card for that amount to either the person contributing or the couple based on delivery preference. So all your man has to do is convince a handful of his friends to contribute to his new TV, and voila! It’s all yours!
If you have ever been into a Best Buy, you know they have a ton of stuff. But did you know there is even more online?! There are so many products you can choose from both in store and online, that you’ll probably have to drag your fiancé out of the store and try to keep him from adding more things online. He can register for the sound system that makes it feel like you’re in the movie theater and you can register for that espresso machine you’ve always wished you had.
A Little Bonus for the Newlyweds
So your wedding day comes and goes, you got almost everything you had registered for but somethings you were really hoping you would get never showed up, now what? Best Buy clearly understands that you’re bummed you don’t have that shiny new waffle maker you were hoping for, because once your wedding day has passed they will send you a 10% off coupon to use on a single transaction toward whatever is left in your registry or for whatever else you may want from them.
All in all, we found that Best Buy is a pretty cool place to have a registry. With awesome things for the both of you, you really can’t go wrong! If you or someone you know is debating on where to register and is having a hard time, we encourage you to check it out!
