How To: Incorporating Technology Into Your Wedding

By now we have all seen the video by the brilliant person who decided to attach a GoPro to a bottle of Fireball and pass it around their wedding. It’s fun, it’s different, it’s perfect! In a world full of selfie sticks and hashtags, incorporating technology into weddings in some way or another has become a necessity. It’s easy to do and the results are incredible!

Here’s a few ways that we here at BTS love!

GoPro

GoPros are small hand held cameras that are awesome for way more than just thrill seeking adventure junkies. They probably won’t be replacing a videographer anytime soon, but they are still a fun (and pretty cheap) addition! Because they’re so small in size and easy to use there are so many fun ways to use them on your big day!

Time Lapse

By setting a GoPro up and out of the way, it allows you to take video over an extended period of time, and condense it as if you’re watching it on fast forward. You get to see your special day come to life start to finish within a couple minutes! Pretty cool, right?

Bouquet Cam

So this is pretty James Bondesque and pretty dang awesome! Stashing the camera in a bouquet gives an incredible point of view that you couldn’t get otherwise. It’s small enough that it doesn’t ruin your gorgeous flower bouquet that you spent forever picking out, but it is big enough to catch everything it needs to!

Pass it Around!

If Fireball’s not you’re thing, that’s totally fine! You can attach the camera to a stick (that GoPro also makes) and pass it around that way! It’s a fun way for you to have proof that you know how to throw an incredible party!

In case you aren’t one of the 2.5 million views and have no clue what I’m talking about, here’s the video! You’ll love it!

Drones

This one is totally crazy, I know! It’s insane to think that we are in day and age where drones are actual things, not just talk of something that we’ll have in the future. The best part? They’re super easy to get a hold of and can take some insanely awesome photos and videos. Having them on your wedding day is going to elevate(literally) your photos unlike you had ever imagined!

#Hashtags

So I guess hashtags don’t really qualify as technology, but we’re going to throw them in here anyhow! With Twitter, Instagram, and now Facebook being land of the hashtags, having your own to use for your wedding is a great way for guests to share their posts and have them linked to you. Having a custom hashtag lets you go to whatever social media platform you’d like, click on your tag, and see everything that anyone has posted from selfies to awesome shots of sweet dance moves. Not creative enough to come up with your own? Not a problem! Wedding Wire has a fabulous hashtag generator that has more options than you would have thought! All you do is fill in the blanks and let it do the rest!
