Holiday Cocktails

The holidays are here and BTS Event Management wants to spread the cheer…. of holiday cocktails of course! With Thanksgiving and Christmas around the corner, you’ll be entertaining your friends and family until the new year rings in.

Here are some yummy, holiday inspired cocktails that you and your guests will love:

Coconut Mintini

Serves: 2

  • ¼ Cup Simple Syrup
  • 6-8 Fresh Mint Leaves
  • 3 Ounces Coconut Vodka
  • Splash of Frangelico
  • 4 Ice Cubes
  • Chocolate Syrup
  • Coconut Flakes (unsweetened is best)

Add syrup and mint leaves to a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer for one minute. Remove from heat and let slightly cool. Add mint leaves and syrup to a cocktail shaker along with the vodka, Frangelico, and ice. Shake for one to two minutes to break apart the ice.

Rim the martini glass in chocolate syrup and then coconut flakes. Pour through strainer equal portions of the cocktail into each martini glass.

Pumpkin Nog

Serves: 15

  • 12 Eggs
  • .5 lb Sugar, divided
  • 1 (750-mL) bottle 10 Cane Rum
  • 5 cups Whole milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • .5 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • .5 cup Pumpkin puree

 

Garnish:Whipped cream and freshly grated nutmeg

Separate the eggs and refrigerate the whites. In a mixing bowl, beat the yolks until creamy. Gradually add in .25 lb sugar, beating at high speed until thick. Stir in the rum, milk, vanilla, cinnamon and pumpkin, and chill for at least two hours. Beat the egg whites until soft peaks form. Add the remaining .25 lb sugar, beating to stiff peaks. Fold the chilled rum mixture into the egg whites. Serve in Martini glasses garnished with freshly grated nutmeg and a dollop of whipped cream.

Apple Cider Sangria

Makes 1 pitcher

  • 1 large bottle of Pinot Grigio
  • 2 cups fresh apple cider
  • 1/2 cup brandy
  • 1 tbs sugar
  • 1/2 apple, sliced
  • Apple slices, cranberries + fresh thyme to garnish
  • 1 liter club soda

Mix together all ingredients above, stir and top with club soda. Add 1/2 of an apple sliced and a handful of cranberries and chill for 3 hours or more.

Moscow Mist

  • 1/2 lime, in wedges
  • 1 ounce vodka
  • Fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 cup ginger beer
  • 1/4 cup of Sierra Mist
  • sprig of Rosemary

In a copper mug (if available), squeeze lime wedges, and put the entire wedges in the bottom of the glass.  Add ice.  Pour vodka over ice.  Top with ginger beer, Sierra Mist and stir.  Garnish with a sprig of rosemary.
