Temperatures are cooling off, pumpkin spice latte is back at Starbucks, and in other parts of the country, outside of Arizona, leaves will soon start to change colors and Fall to the ground in preparation for winter. One of the most popular seasons, Fall, is here! In honor of this season change, we thought it was rather fitting to showcase, one of our favorite Fall-themed weddings.
We had the pleasure of being apart of one of the most customized backyard weddings we’ve ever seen. BTS was hired for Day of Coordination for Emily and Brian. This is a lovely couple who lived out-of-town and planned the destination wedding of their dreams in the bride’s parents’ backyard, located in Scottsdale, Arizona.
I remember clearly the first phone meeting I had with Emily. She is an extremely intelligent young lady who really did her wedding planning research and was well informed about the wedding industry. She knew just the right questions to ask a wedding planner and had a lot of work already complete before she contacted us. She had created a very detailed budget and design board. She also had many google documents that listed a rough timeline for what she wanted to happen during the day, her guest list, and a detailed list of her vendors along with their contact information. When you check out the photos, you will see that she put tons of time into the design and DIY projects to really customized this wedding to make it the perfect reflection of her and her soon to be hubby.
One of the things I loved most about this wedding, was the fact that it was a direct reflection of Emily and Brian. They really did away with all of the traditional “rules” and just made the day a celebration of their marriage. Guests enjoyed a yummy BBQ buffet and an open bar. The Maid of Honor wore a dress with a print, rather than just a solid color, and the tables were decorated with fun fall decor like sunflowers, pumpkins, decorative wine bottles, and gourds. The guests signed in on a wine barrel, and enjoyed a super fun cocktail hour of drinking, eating, and playing lawn games while Emily and Brian finished taking their photos.
I can’t stress enough how important it is to incorporate details into your wedding that are directly reflective of you and your partner. You want your guests to walk in and say: “Oh this is sooooo them”. Personalization is key, and that is exactly what this couple did.
We worked together with Emily and Brian for about 3 months prior to the wedding, tying up loose ends and creating a really detailed schedule for the day of. We met with all of the vendors Emily had hired for her wedding day and confirmed their details for the wedding. It was a pleasure to work with a few new companies as well as other companies we are really familiar with. Emily did a great job of pulling together just the right people for her special day.
