Emerald Green Wedding in Scottsdale, AZ

Most of the time when we are hired to plan a couple’s wedding, they have an idea of what they want their wedding to look like.  Sometimes, these idea’s are super specific, with awesome Pinterest boards that have most definitely been in the works longer than the engagement (it’s ok, we’ll never tell), and other times, we just get a couple great inspo pics and maybe some color swatches to kick things off.  Either way, whatever our couples start with, we are always excited to start on a new wedding design project.

With this particular couple, they didn’t have any ideas of what they wanted their wedding color, design, or details to look like.  They just stressed to us that the wedding needed to be amazing, and their guests needed to have one heck of a time celebrating.  This couple often times responded to questions we asked with the words: “Whatever you think will be best”…..which of course is an all time favorite phrase for any wedding planner to hear. 🙂

We had our work cut out for us. Not because we were starting from scratch for the design, but because we had less than 2 months to pull this all together.  Thankfully, we have some pretty fool proof systems and structures in place when planning a wedding in such a short amount of time.

First things first. We started off by establishing the foundations. Two things we ALWAYS stress when starting with a new client: budget and floor plans.  These two huge pieces of info will be our blueprints for the remainder of the wedding.  Once these two are were squared away, the fun stuff began!

Colors!!!!  What on earth were we going to use as the color scheme for this wedding?  Although, it is always tons of fun when a couple leaves creative freedom up to us, it is also a little more challenging, prompting the following questions:  Where do we start? What do they like? What do they hate? What is going to speak to them best?  We created a couple different color schemes for our couple to choose from.  Seeing as though this was a Fall wedding, we started off with warm and neutral tone combinations.  Check out the combinations we sent them:

After we established the color pallet, which was emerald green, navy blue, champagne and ivory, we began to create their wedding planning design boards.  Our design boards are very specific and detailed. They make it nice and easy for just about anyone to follow along with the visions that are coming to life.  We dedicate lots of time to these so that our couples can literally picture their wedding day before it happens and so that every vendor involved is very clear on the specifics as well as the overall plan.

As we were wedding planning and design creating, we were also styling the wedding party.  Check out how our style board came to life on this wedding party:
