Being a wedding planner in Scottsdale, AZ, we often service couples from all over the country and world.  Scottsdale always makes the top ten wedding destination location list because of it’s unique desert landscape, incredible mountain views, and very comfortable weather for about 9 months out of the year.  We love working with couples from out of town, when they are planning their weddings out here, but we also really love when we get to work in other parts of the country and world as destination wedding planners.  Recently we coordinated and designed a wedding in Hawaii and we have been dying to tell you all about it!

Decisions, decisions…..wedding makeup is filled with so many options these days. Do you choose to go bold and beautiful, natural and fresh faced, or classy and sophisticated? Then, once you make that decision there are a few more things to decide. To airbrush or not to airbrush?  Do you use fake eyelashes or get eyelash extensions? And then there’s the lipstick: matte or shiny? and what shade?  We know, so many questions, right? But don’t you worry your pretty little heart we’ve got you covered on the lipstick front today!

Ok, first and foremost, we have to let you in on a little secret:  be sure to choose your lipstick shade during your makeup trial run.  Write down the exact brand and shade so you can purchase before your big day.  This helps with touch ups throughout the day.  Your lipstick is one of the first things to go and in order to avoid you having to dig into your own lipstick stash to “almost” match the original color, you might as well just have it handy.  One less thing to worry about:)

Lip shade is important because it completes the over all look. With that being said, we want to share with you the hottest colors from the top brands that are sure to give your face just the right amount of pop.

For all things makeup The Sparkle Bar is where its at.  We trust them personally and with our brides, so it was a no brainer for us to reach out to these experts to hear whats trending in lipstick land when it comes to weddings. We’re so excited to share the details that were given to us from Courtney, the lead makeup artist from The Sparkle Bar, about her top lipstick colors and trends for weddings. Here’s what she had to say.

Soft Lip
Don’t love a lot of color on your lips or do you love a soft lip? Don’t worry! To accomplish a subtle soft lip Courtney from The Sparkle Bar loves, Meet Matte Huges in Committed paired with Laura Mercier Lip Liner in Plumberry.

Peachy Pout
For the perfect peachy pout Mac Lipstick in Peach Stock with Laura Mercier Lip Liner in Hazelnut Tea and a touch of Laura Mercier Lip Gloss in Bonbon to add some pop. We think this is the perfect lip for our Spring Brides.

Nude Lip
When the bride wants to keep that lippie nude, Courtney loves to use Laura Mericer Lip Liner in Chestnut with Mac Lipstick in Viva Glam V. To add a pop to that look Courtney likes to add Lorac Highly Pigmented Lip Gloss in Bombshell. You can’t go wrong with a nude lip!

Bold Red Lip
If you’re looking for a bold look, a red lip is always a perfect option. Let’s face it, it’s your day, you mine as well shine bright girl. Courtney creates her favorite red lip look by mixing  Vivien by Laura Mercier with Laura Mercier lip liner in Ruby.

Berry Lip
Are you a bride that’s looking for a great fall berry color? We got you. Courtney suggests that you try Mac lip liner in Vino with Mac’s lipstick called Rebel. Together they make the perfect color for that beautiful berry lip that’s perfect for fall and winter weddings.

Primer Tip
All lipsticks that Courtney recommended are long wearing but lipstick doesn’t always stay on everyone. So, if you’re a person who always has problems keeping lipstick on Courtney highly suggests you use a primer. Her favorite lip primer is from Mac called Prep + Prime Lip. We’ve got to say that we think this is a good idea for any bride so that lipstick is one less thing you’re thing about on your wedding night.

We think we’ve covered any shades or styles of lipsticks but don’t hesitate to leave any lipstick or makeup questions you have for us or The Sparkle Bar below. And don’t forget to check out The Sparkle Bar for all your makeup needs. You can find more information abut them and book your appointment HERE.
