Oh my goodness!  Let me tell you about the absolute best bachlorete weekend ever.  So, as girls will be girls and running a million different schedules, I wasn’t actually able to have my bachelorette party until 2 weeks before the wedding.  There has just been so much going on!  But to tell you the truth, I think I would rather have had it closer to the wedding day than further out because of how much fun I was able to have.  I would have to admit, I have been super crazy stressed and busy and have been thinking about a million and one different things and the fact that I was able to just let everything go and not worry about one single thing, 2 weeks before the wedding – it was a blessing!

Last Sunday we had such a great time at the Phoenix Bridal Show at the Hotel Sheraton in downtown Phoenix.  It was our very first experience as a vendor in this show, however, we really enjoyed seeing all of the excited brides-to-be with all of their bridesmaids, parents and fiancés.  Over 500 brides-to-be crowded into the ballroom space where they came to meet with vendors from all across the industry.  There were travel agents, DJs, caterers, bakers, florists, dress/clothing retailers, wedding planners and many many more.  We were so lucky because we were surrounded by all of our friends in the industry!  We were next to Tina with Pixy Cakes, who makes some of the best tasting and looking cakes and desserts in the valley, across from Julie with JuJu’s Tutus, who custom creates flower girl dresses and accessories, and down the aisle from Dave with Pour Masters, our favorite industry bar tending service, and Eric with Got You Covered, who has a team of super talented DJs that always put on an amazing show for every wedding.

Erica and David are a couple who we had worked with for over a whole year helping to plan their wedding.  They came to us with three things that were important to them: food, drinks and music.  As far as wedding design and decor, they didn’t have too much in mind at all.  Erica, the bride, was sweet and soft spoken.  She didn’t have many requests throughout our time working together and was always as laid back as a person could possibly be.  The groom, David, really took the lead on the wedding planning details.  He created a pinterest board, along with spreadsheets for the guest list and meal choices, and he was always extremely organized and responsive.  The two of them really compliment each other well and bring out the best in each other and it certainly was evident on their wedding day!

Hi there!
Chris and I just sent out our Save the Dates!  How exciting!  Seems like it is just another step in the process but to me surprisingly, it is pretty exciting.  I enlisted one of my bridesmaids and best friends, Erin to help me create them.  Erin is an Art Director for a ad agency in Philadelphia and is also starting her own Photography and Graphic Design company, Grace & Ardor Co..  Of course, I had no other thought than to use her great skills and creativity.  She gets me, my style and what I am looking for really well!

How fun are getting engagement photos!?  Well, while most of you may think that engagement photos are really fun and exciting, others might totally disagree.  The truth of the story is, for me, it was extremely stressful, even as a wedding planner.  Thinking about where to take the pictures, what to wear, how to do my hair, if I need to get my makeup done, how clean my house was, etc., etc., etc..  it became a complete mind game.  That was my thought process prior to the start of the day and to be honest, I really wasn’t looking forward to them at all.  Afterwards however, when it was all said and done, it was a completely different story.  See, the pictures represent me and my fiancé, Chris.  They represent the love we share with each other and how simple and easy it is to be together.  Chris and I had a great time and we really enjoyed the company of Mike as well.  We laughed, we joked, we probably got mad at each other (I saw it on his face in one picture) but we were completely us and that is exactly what I wanted this whole day to be about.  Although my initial feelings were a bit all over the place, at the end of the day, the pictures came out amazing and I couldn’t be happier.  If there is one tip that I could offer anyone about to take their pictures, it would be this: just be you.  Be as normal, as silly, as serious or as goofy as you are together when no one is watching.  That, in itself, will make the experience unforgettable.

Going dress shopping is always fun and exciting, right?  Well, yes!  But of course it can be super stressful as well.  Dress designs, styles, shapes, colors, etc. are limitless and you can try on as many dresses as humanly possible.  For me, trying on dresses was very exciting however, I didn’t go into it limiting myself to anything in particular.  Naturally, I knew what I felt I would like best, and I also knew what I felt I wouldn’t like at all but, like the shows, planners and stylists say – more times than not, a bride goes into trying on dresses with one thing in mind and ends up loving the complete opposite!

Don’t get me wrong, this next post is not to be negative in anyway but, the frustration that I have felt in the last 2 months as a new bride to be is real.  Frustrated Bride, BTS Event Management, Wedding Planner, Arizona, Scottsdale, PhoenixEvery single detail, and I mean EVERY single detail, consistently crosses my mind and comes up and then goes away daily.   I keep getting the questions, “It’s probably really easy to plan your wedding since you are a planner, right?”  And “How is planning going?”  Truth be told, the planning process is just as hard as not having any idea about wedding planning.  See, I don’t have a planner, other than Trista, and of course we have our other weddings to worry about so I don’t like to vent a whole lot about our planning process but, the stress and frustration that a new bride goes through during the planning process can really get the best of you.  (Usually I have to break in the middle of our work day and just let it out!)
